Quakertown Weekend Holiday Events |
|
The Holiday Event hosted by Quakertown Alive! was held in Downtown Quakertown on Friday, December 4th, 2009 from 6-8 PM Crowds started gathering at 5:30 in anticipation of exciting events which were kicked off by Rob Capone the artist who sculpted our interactive ice sculpting for Santa and families to enjoy and take family photos with our beautifully decorated Christmas Tree as a backdrop.
To the delight of adults and children alike, the Annual Tree Lighting was a huge success and very well attended. Santa arrived on the fire engine and helped to light our beautiful new tree at 7 pm. Santa took his place on the freshly carved ice throne to visit with the children and give each one a candy cane sponsored by Cafe on the Way.
QNB Bank distributed Jingle Lanyards so the children could accompany the singing of traditional Christmas Carols, led by the Strolling Victorian Carolers.

Harley hill Farms brought their baby and adult alpacas for visitors to admire and pet. Hand knitted and hand made alpaca also on display and available for purchase as well as adorable pet coats.
All Things Bridal hosted live models in wedding attire in their display shop window. many strolling visitors were surprised but pleased as they passed by the bridal shop. Over 450 patrons visited our downtown stores for the Holiday Specials, enjoying complimentary cider, coffee, hot chocolate and other homemade holiday cookies and goodies.
Verizon was very generous to donate a 15.6 foot Colorado Blue Spruce tree for our Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and to be enjoyed by all who visit our Downtown Business District. Verizon also covered all the costs of delivery, installation lights and the beautiful decorations. A Big Holiday Thank You to Verizon
We also would like to thank Kiefer Landscaping of Hellertown for their help in selecting and planting such a beautiful tree. Thanks also to Geoff's Towing for their advice and assistance and to the Borough's Public Works men that helped with the all the decorations and lights. We also want to thank all of the volunteers and members of Quakertown Alive! who worked tirelessly to decorate our town and tree for our Holiday Season!

Thank you to Lynn Kraft and students for their work on the beautiful Holiday planters that line our Downtown Business District. They look awesome and create that Special Holiday Ambiance. Quakertown Alive! partnered with Relay for Life as they kicked off their program this weekend. We want to say a special thanks
for all the purple and white luminaries that lined our street for the Tree Lighting and yet another thank you to Lynn Kraft for the creative planting of the purple cabbages and silver ribbons in the planters.
The purple represents the cancer survivors and the white or silver represents the care givers. Quakertown Alive! was honored to partner with the Relay for Life Committee. A big thanks to Bromms Lullaby Farms for supplying the purple cabbages at a great discount for our planters. Make sure you check out their Holiday Open House this weekend!
