Organization Committee

Chairperson: Jim Wilson

Currently meets as needed.

The Organization Committee promotes Quakertown Alive and its downtown programs by recruiting volunteers for the standing committees, helping with fundraising, handling the website, In-Town Guide and other communications, and building bridges with individuals and local community groups. Some of these responsibilities are shared by the executive commitee (officers) and the board of directors.

2008 In-Town Guide

The new In-Town Guide is complete and available at numerous locations throughout the area. This new, four-color, 36-page booklet combines the best of two former publications and then some. Updated content from the original In-Town Guide and the walking historic tour of the downtown were the foundation for the booklet.

In addition, it lists a calendar of Annual Events, Borough Services, Community Groups, Recreational Amenities, Youth Sports, Schools and other useful information about what's in and around Quakertown, PA.

The guide was initially available at the Arts Alive festival and then distributed to the usual locations of downtown businesses, the train station, Borough Hall, local municipal buildiings, the library, the YMCA, the senior center, area hotels and visitor's centers throughout the county.

The project was initiated by former Main Street manager Holly Edinger and intern Jason Bauman, as a follow-up to previous versions originally created by Jim Wilson.  After Holly's unexpected departure, the project was eventually completed with the help of many volunteers including, Sharon Marshall, Bill Masi, Jim Wilson, Jackie Mohr, Roseann Phillips, Doug McCambridge and others.

Look for the bright blue cover and share it with your friends and families.
